Volunteer Service Grant Amount Awarded: $12,500

The Byron Saunders Foundation, which provides Thanksgiving meals for families in need in Central Ohio, was awarded a $12,500 Volunteer Service Grant on behalf of the volunteer efforts of Independent EVIP Consultant Sharon Prince. Sharon comments, “Every needy family is given a big box of food which contains everything they would need to make a Thanksgiving meal at their own home: items such as cranberry sauce, stuffing, chicken broth, mashed potatoes, green beans and more. Their reaction is one of joy, now that the traditional family Thanksgiving dinner will happen with their children and loved ones, for a lifetime of memories.”

Sharon first became involved with the Byron Saunders Foundation by organizing several food drives with her hostesses at Spas. Since then, she has helped organize and present several fundraising events to help defray the costs of the program.

Brian Wollenberg, President of the Byron Saunders Foundation speaks of the impact this W.H.O. grant will make. “The amount of $12,500 will equate to us being able to feed over 500 families, about 2000 individuals. This is a significant impact to our fundraising efforts this year.... Thank you so much for your generosity.”
